1 in 5 new clients come to IAs unsolicited. What will they see when they find you?

A client recently shared with us that in the last week, three prospects came across their website after a general search and decided to reach out.

This supports a recent study finding that one in five new clients come to IAs without any referral or solicitation. And the majority of this activity is happening online.

So here’s a very simple path forward for IAs looking for organic growth:

  • Elevate your online presence above your local competitors‘. Even without sponsored Google listings or dedicated ranking initiatives, your site could still have a strong rank for “Advisor near me” searches. So look at what others are doing and do better.
  • Establish the right first impression. Before your first conversation with a prospect, your site has to speak for you. Make it a clear message for a target market within a polished design.
  • Give them a way to reach out. Capturing these opportunities before they leave your site means having an easy way to reach out and a quick, repeatable process to connect with anyone submitting an inquiry.

Ask yourself where your unsolicited clients are coming from and how you can maximize that opportunity.
